E-Commerce sites need to have a secure payment gateway otherwise customers will not feel like shopping on the site. They are after all going to give confidential credit card details to the firm. They need to have faith that such information will remain confidential. It is also a good idea for the company to have a symbol or mark on the site that says the payment gateways are secure. They also need to provide the customers with a variety of options for making their payment, like PayPal and bank transfers. Such flexibility would help attract more customers to the business.
